I love classes! Come stitch
with me and I promise you will enjoy yourself. I
use a demo frame that is like a giant piece of
linen so you can see the stitches made right before
your eyes. You will also have detailed illustrated
instructions in front of you on the table, plus
complete kits. Just bring your normal stitching
supplies: scissors, ruler, light and magnification
if you use them. I teach as much as possible on
20ct linen which makes it easy to learn new
techniques that you can then apply to smaller
counts if you like. My classes have a relaxed
atmosphere but you won't be overwhelmed by chatter
from other students while I'm speaking. I like to
get things going with mutual introductions because
you'll never know when you might meet a neighbor, a
colleague or a soulmate. I'll always cover the
basics so everyone starts out on equal footing. I
demonstrate each technique then get you started
with your own hands as I work around the room
providing individual coaching. Lefties are welcome!
I try to provide left-handed printed instructions
were needed. There will be doorprizes and
show-and-tell, plus usually a trunk show of
delights to purchase. If you wear a stitched
nametag, you get an extra doorprize ticket and if
you bring a finished project from a previous class
with me, I'll give you a present!
It's always a good idea to
wear layers in case you get warm or cold, and most
students have a bottle of water handy, plus pencil
and paper for notes.
The best part is the
fellowship...but we will learn as well. My dad
loved to say "This much fun ought to be illegal!" Both of my parents were a well-loved embroidery
instructor team and I try to live up to their
legacy of love of needlework and needleworkers!
